Thoughts on life

I think we all need to believe in a higher being. I don't care if you think it's God, Zeus and Hera, or  Buddha, but I think we all need some kind of explanation for what happens in life. Sometimes, it's like karma is just slapping you left and right, and others it's as though you've just had a vial of felix felicis. There must be a motive, right?

It's just been a long day, and I just wonder sometimes. I don't know. Maybe it's all based off how bitchy people feel at a particular time and place, or maybe we're all just pawns in some great chess game. I don't know. I wish I did. I'd love to know why, why, why. But then, I suppose we all do. And I suppose, if we knew the system, we'd hack it and fix it.

Does it sound communist to say that I wish we were all equal? The same stuff, the same access. Everything we fight over is over someone's crap. Land, diamonds, water, nuclear warheads, shit like that. We don't need all this shit. We just need a little house, a garden, some water, and friends. Give me that and I'll show you how to live.

God help us. Bless us, keep us, and help us.

hahaha

I love it when teachers say funny stuff. There's one I know pretty well, and we were talking and she just yells "dammit" and I laughed and she says "darn it" and it's totally normal. I like being friends.

ps. TENNIS STARTS THIS WEEK!! Frick yeah!

A Year in Review

I was looking at my "most popular" posts, and "BSG" popped up. I read it, and it's from February of last year when I started watching Battlestar. Oh my goodness. To quote myself: "Laura Roslin is really upset because she's just been diagnosed with cancer. Then, all of a sudden,  these bad guy/robots called Cylons come blasting out of nowhere and pretty much blow up Caprica." And then, later on: "Sharon (aka Boomer) and this other guy and they rescue about 50 people from Caprica, including the super-genius scientist, Gaius Baltar. Sadly, to rescue Gaius the "other guy" is left behind on Caprica."

HAHAHAHA

I've come so far since then! Hahaha, little did I know I'd finish the whole show in a couple months, and then continue to obsess over it, haha I even have a tag for it now.... I love everything sometimes...

Crossovers....

Battlestar Greylactica. Or Battlestar's Anatomy. Haha, that one sucked. Um... Grey's Battlestar. Grey's Galactica. Hahaaa, no.

Let's just say Battlestar Greylactica.

I watch Battlestar Galactica, and I cried when it was over. The end was sooo sad. So I looked up Mary Mcdonnell and found she's in a few episodes of Grey's Anatomy. However, she's in Season 5. Being brilliant like I am, I said "Let's start at episode one. It can't take too long to catch up." Lies. That was nearly a year ago. I watched season one, two, and maybe part of three? I don't remember. It's a soap opera; it's all the same. Anyways, last night, I skipped to season 5 and the three episodes Mary is in.

AHHMAZING!!

Ok, maybe not that great, but I quite enjoyed it. She plays Virginia Dixon, who's a great heart surgeon. However, she has Asperger's Syndrome. If you don't know what it is, go look it up, I'm not an expert. But what it eventually equated to was raising the acting bar. She did a great job. I think if you feel so embarrassed for a character that you have to bury your face in a pillow, they did well.

To the point: I think it would be rather interesting to write a Grey's/Battlestar crossover, in which Grey's is happening roughly 150,000 years after Battlestar. If you've seen it, you'll remember the whole "it has happened before, it shall happen again" prophecy and Gaius' hallucinated Six saying maybe the circle was ending.

It could be set in Grey's with Dixon as the "dying leader"/Laura Roslin, and Adama would have to be an OC, I suppose. How interesting could this get? You could do a whole novel....

What's your opinion on fanfiction? Stops creativity by already having a set universe and characters, or encourages creativity by letting authors focus solely on the plot and character development, rather than who and where?

If I ever get around to writing this, it'll be here.

It's been about a year now.

It's been about a year since I started watching Battlestar Galactica. It's probably about my favorite show of all time. I don't know how much that means, seeing as the only other thing I really watch is Masterpiece on PBS, haha.

But it's great. The acting, the people, the plot, the effects. Mary McDonnell, playing Laura Roslin is my favorite. She's wonderful, and Roslin's arc through the series is breathtaking. She changes so much.

Is it bad that I still cry when I see her and Adama kiss, or when I watch the Daybreak episodes?
A screen-cap from a SyFy interview.
Watch it if you ever can, it's on Netflix. Listen to the soundtrack, especially the fourth. Bear McCreary does a great job. The drums are absolutely LEGIT. My favorite song is "An Easterly View." Listen.

It was funny; the power in our school was out for two hours today, and the first thing out of my mouth is "OHMYGOSHTHISISLIKEACYLONINVASION!!" Followed by "HASANYONESEENBATTLESTARGALACTICA?!IT'STHEBESTTHINGEVER!!!!NO,IT'SNOTTHENERDYSTUFFIUSUALLYTALKABOUT,IT'SLEGIT!!!"

I'm a bit of a wacko sometimes. We played cards and screamed and told anti-jokes the entire time.

Any good Battlestar anti-jokes?

What's worse than finding a worm in your apple? The Cylons blowing up Caprica.

Why couldn't Laura Roslin shoot a Cylon? Because she was dying.

Haha, these are awful. Help me. :)

New Blogger layout....

I'm not sure what I think about it.... It's very different, rather like Google Docs....

Dreams?

Quite a while back, I had a dream about mice, carrots, laundry, rats, and the color red. Don't ask, haha. I went online to a dream translator, and here's what I came up with.

Mice-To see mice in your dream indicates that you are spending too much time dwelling on minor problems and insignificant matters.

Carrots-To see a carrot in your dream signifies abundance and fertility. It may also symbolize a lure as in the pun "dangle a carrot".

Laundry-To dream that you are doing your laundry suggests that you are cleaning up your act or changing your image. Perhaps, you are too concerned about how you appear to others.
Except I wasn't actually doing laundry... I just had a laundry basket...

Rats-To see a rat in your dream signifies feelings of doubts, greed, guilt, unworthiness and envy. You are keeping something to yourself that is eating you up inside. Or you have done something that you are not proud of. Alternatively, a rat denotes repulsion, decay, dirtiness, and even death. The dream may also be a pun on someone who is a rat. Are you feeling betrayed?

Red-Red is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage, impulsiveness and passion
