Self Hugging

I did it! Just now! 50,004 words. I'm sitting in my room next to my bed, whimpering and hugging myself. I can't believe it!!! *whimper whimper* *self-hug*

Hello Nano, meet Major Procrastination!

I've only written a bit today, thanks to procrastination. My room is clean, the computer and TV downstairs are disinfected and clean, dinner is cooking, my blog is re-done, my desk is polished, clothes are (mostly) hung up and put away, and my bed is made. I also did another Avatar photo. I do have my plot outlined though, so if I do some real writing tonight, and don't watch another Nova show about Airbuses, I should be okay. Have a good holiday!

Slightly Obsessive

So, that was fun. Now I'm going to talk about the movie. Everything that's potentially a spoiler will be behind a spoiler, so don't worry.
It opens with the minister of magic, Scrimgeour, and the first thing I thought about the movie was: "Oh my God, it's Slartibartfast." Slartibartfast is a character from the novel and movie Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The movie is one of the all time funniest. At any rate, Scrimgeour is played by Bill Nighy and AHHH!! I'm right! so is Slartibartfast. Oh the wonders of Google.

The next scene opened with Emma Watson as Hermione and I thought Oh, how wonderful that Emma's opening the last movie! I nearly cried right there. And then her mother calls her to come down for tea. She looks around her room, which is periwinkle and has a stereo, and then the camera cuts to her standing behind her parents when they're watching TV, waiting for her. Hermione starts crying when her mum says something about Australia. Hermione lifts her wand and says 'Obliviate' and there's this soft, white glow for the spell. She does it to her parents, then walks around to all the photos in the room and you see her image fade from each picture, so that only her mum, dad, or an empty bed is left. Then you see her with the magic beaded bag and shes walking away, down the street in the rain.  I was so sad. Later the spell's usage is revealed when she uses Obliviate on Dolohov in the London cafe.
The scene where Dobby dies is so touching. Harry picks him up, on the beach by Shell Cottage after Bellatrix stabs him. He tells Harry he is happy, that he's in a beautiful place and that he's with his friend. It was so sad.  The part where Bellatrix throws her knife (she is skilled at that) is really cool. She throws it at Dobby and Harry and co. and the camera slows down and moves around it and you see it spin tip over hilt. It was cool.
The strangest part was when Hermione reads the Tale of the Three Brothers. It's almost creepy, but cool. There's a gold-orange background and almost entirely black figures move about to illustrate the tale. It's unique.
There was this totally non-canon scene, in the tent, after Ron left. The radio is playing music, so Harry and Hermione just get up and dance. Harry can't dance at all, but there are flashes of different dancing things they do. By the end of the scene, they're waltzing, I think. It's not romantic at all, but it's a great scene. After the music stops, they just kinda snap back and are like 'oh, wow, um... look at the time' kinda thing.
Here's a great link to Kristina Horner's (italktosnakes, AllCaps, Parselmouths) video about the movie. Lá!

Best movie ever!!!!

So we got to the movie theater at 11:30 PM, there's a sign that says 'HP7 Midnight!!!!' Got in got popcorn with ranch and white cheddar seasoning and got front row seats. It was just like the books. Some parts were scary, like when Bathilda becomes Nagini. I watched to the part where her teeth turned into fangs and her skin got brown, then I closed my eyes. It was great. The end showed
Voldemort breaking into Dumbledore's tomb and taking the Elder Wand. Then he shot lightning into the sky to start the credits. I think there were really some undercurrents of Nazi Germany. For example, Mrs. Cattermole, Reg's wife, had dark hair that was curled back and a very old fashion calico dress. Also when Bellatrix
tortures Hermione, she cuts the word 'mudblood' into the girl's arm, like symbolism for the Jude star. I think I've been listening to Cappiello too long. I loved it  and hope to see it again later. I gotta go now, cause school's in 5 hours and I haven't slept yet. I'll try really hard not to tell you about the movie 'til you've seen it, so hurry up and watch it. :)

Je vais vous tuer

That's what we learned in French today. We read the wikipedia.fr page about Harry Potter and learned to say 'je vais vour tuer' and watched the Harry Potter et les Reliques de la Mort trailers. I'm going to our local premier tonight at midnight. I can't wait! Tomorrow's only a half-day of school so...yay!
I'm nearly 5,000 words behind schedule, but I figure I can catch up this weekend. I'm starting to dislike my plot now. I think next year I'll write real fantasy with mermaids and fairies and WoW-based landscape. Pep talk anyone?

Ack!

I realized I'm just over halfway! Woot!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Hey, Hey, It's November and I'm posting!

So just a moment ago, I typed the 10,000 word in my novel (The Athenian League). Guess what the word was.

She.
'She', with a capital 's'. No, not 'Sidhe' (which is pronounced 'she'), just 'she' like 'Abby frowned. She grabbed the alarm clock.'
Haha, lol. I've wanted to say that all day.
Does anyone have ideas for a cover? Comment me! :)

Well, It IS November

So, it's officially NaNoWriMo. I guess writing here is my little break from noveling at the moment. If you check out Claribel Hawkins, I've posted my prologue. I may or may not post more, so don't get too excited. I now have to put my Circle Universe fanfiction on hold, but that's okay, I actually got to Chapter Five, and that's posted on Fanfiction.net. I think I hit a bit of a blocker there. I'll be thinking about it.

I'm blathering on. Ah, well, break well deserved. I'm at 1295 words, so it's okay.
