I really don't understand people sometimes. What possesses someone to plant bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon? Whoever it was would know that it would be packed with people. And it would be a happy place because everyone was finishing. Why do people want to purposely hurt others? It seems like the most selfish thing in the world. It's a cry for attention. Why would you do that? It doesn't seem like a prison sentence would be enough. I don't mean a death sentence either. From my perspective death would be easier. Why not go sit in a room full of the people you hurt? Could you look a single one of them in the face?

I hope they catch whoever it was soon. I suppose everyone wants that, but I'll join the masses. Whoever the bomber(s) is(are): you are beyond words. It wouldn't be enough to say you're frakked up or that you're a total ass, but we can start there. Screw you.

I know there's not much I can do for anyone, but prayers and hope can go a long way, I think.

Seventeen

Tomorrow I'll be eighteen, legally an adult. I don't feel like a grown up, haha. Still in school, still taking tests, ect.... I'm just going to make a list of what's been up, in case I ever look back through here later.

  1. I'm reading The Girl Who Played With Fire. I'm really liking the Steig Larsson trilogy.
  2. Dad and I are watching a TON of Swedish mysteries. It's ridiculous, but I swear Swedish sound like French.
  3. Tennis was good this year. Cierra and I took second at Regionals and fifth at state. Listen to Steve Aoki's "Livin' My Love."
  4. Garbing and assistant directing for "Carousel." It's gonna be awesome.
  5. Turned out some decent art. Nothing totally wowing, but some stuff I like all right. I'm trying some pieces based off Tamora Pierce covers.
  6. Taking AP Psychology was a bad idea haha. At least right now. I am SO behind. Right now it's at a 45% and I need to get it up to have any hope of being salutatorian. I'll work on it. Hard core. Being salutatorian would be legit.
  7. It's been pretty good this year.
  8. Battlestar Galactica. Still lovin' it. Freaking gahhhh. Also, Rizzoli & Isles is pretty funny. Maura's not Maura, but she's cool. Major Crimes season two is out next summer! YES! haha.
  9. I'm hoping to try fencing at college. Or rowing. I'd still like to play bagpipe.
  10. I'd like to got to Virginia Tech for college, but I pretty much have a full ride to UW, so I'll see how the scholarships turn out. Remember to reply by May 1st.
  11. Running. I'd like to take that up this summer. Go for a run or some parcour in Beck Lake. Ride the whole way down Prickly Pear Alley.
  12. Love the dogs and the cats.
  13. Brave and Promethius were good. Promethius was my first R-rated movie with Jeff.
  14. Jeff and Amanda and I need to hang.
  15. The regular gang needs to hang.
  16. Hey, there's almost eighteen things here now.
  17. Try being vegan for a bit.
  18. Be the shizzle.

I've only got a second...

The cover of Battle Magic was updated. I think my heart started beating faster just looking at it.

I also finished my calculus final today. I loved trig and pre-calc and did just fine with them, but calc just isn't my friend. I suck at calc. Ah well, can't have everything, hmm?

Thirdly. Watch Paul. The Simon Pegg and Sigourney Weaver one with the alien. It's funny. I love Sigourney Weaver. And Simon Pegg- just watch all of his movies. (Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run)

CHS Tennis

I started this blog over two years ago and one of the first things I wrote about was tennis. Today I finished my high school tennis career. It was an incredible 7 seasons. (One spring and one fall, seniors can't play spring.) I played JV every year until this fall, when I finally made varsity. I played part of the season with Katie, a sweet junior with beautiful groundstrokes. We were undefeated and beat KW and NC on what I see as the best day of our season together. Then I was partners with Cierra, a hard-core senior with a signature slam. We had a tough start, but pulled together in time to take second at North Regionals, defeating Sheridan and NC, and losing to Gillette. The last two days we had a good time. We had an absolutely incredible match with Cheyenne Central last night, winning 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 6-4. It was so hard and so beautiful. We were on fire. We were racehorses at the baseline and lionesses at the net. It is such a sweet feeling to have a well-earned victory. We fell today to Laramie and Rock Springs. I won't lie, Laramie smoked us and Rock Springs was better, but we did well. I am SO proud of my team. Jenna, Taylor, Jenny and Sam, Skye and TT, Cierra and myself, Katie and Meg, Shad, Dan, Jordan and Trey, Ethan and Jess, Eric and Tanner, TJ and Angelo, Dawg and Brandt. We had an incredible season and it was the best. Play like a champion forever.

Karma

I seem to be taking a religious streak in my posts, but I don't think that's bad... I don't mean to say I'm promoting my views, though. I think everyone eventually finds their niche, and that's cool. I try to be accepting of others. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but that's okay. As long as you try, that's what matters.

Do you think there's karma? Or is it just in our heads?
