A Year in Review

I was looking at my "most popular" posts, and "BSG" popped up. I read it, and it's from February of last year when I started watching Battlestar. Oh my goodness. To quote myself: "Laura Roslin is really upset because she's just been diagnosed with cancer. Then, all of a sudden,  these bad guy/robots called Cylons come blasting out of nowhere and pretty much blow up Caprica." And then, later on: "Sharon (aka Boomer) and this other guy and they rescue about 50 people from Caprica, including the super-genius scientist, Gaius Baltar. Sadly, to rescue Gaius the "other guy" is left behind on Caprica."

HAHAHAHA

I've come so far since then! Hahaha, little did I know I'd finish the whole show in a couple months, and then continue to obsess over it, haha I even have a tag for it now.... I love everything sometimes...

It's been about a year now.

It's been about a year since I started watching Battlestar Galactica. It's probably about my favorite show of all time. I don't know how much that means, seeing as the only other thing I really watch is Masterpiece on PBS, haha.

But it's great. The acting, the people, the plot, the effects. Mary McDonnell, playing Laura Roslin is my favorite. She's wonderful, and Roslin's arc through the series is breathtaking. She changes so much.

Is it bad that I still cry when I see her and Adama kiss, or when I watch the Daybreak episodes?
A screen-cap from a SyFy interview.
Watch it if you ever can, it's on Netflix. Listen to the soundtrack, especially the fourth. Bear McCreary does a great job. The drums are absolutely LEGIT. My favorite song is "An Easterly View." Listen.

It was funny; the power in our school was out for two hours today, and the first thing out of my mouth is "OHMYGOSHTHISISLIKEACYLONINVASION!!" Followed by "HASANYONESEENBATTLESTARGALACTICA?!IT'STHEBESTTHINGEVER!!!!NO,IT'SNOTTHENERDYSTUFFIUSUALLYTALKABOUT,IT'SLEGIT!!!"

I'm a bit of a wacko sometimes. We played cards and screamed and told anti-jokes the entire time.

Any good Battlestar anti-jokes?

What's worse than finding a worm in your apple? The Cylons blowing up Caprica.

Why couldn't Laura Roslin shoot a Cylon? Because she was dying.

Haha, these are awful. Help me. :)

Summer again

So it's summer again, and I don't have my school computer anymore. That is actually more than okay with me. Those things weigh a ton. I don't care if they're nice, shiny Apples, they weigh a lot. So I'm using my ipod to post. Meaning, I can't post pictures. Maybe you'll see one once in a while, but for now you can give up. :)
School's over, I passed my classes, and it's snowing and raining and raining and being cold here. It's not summer. It's flipping winter. In May. So I've ended up spending some time on Netflix. I looked up Mary McDonnell shows (she plays Laura Roslin from Battlestar) and she came up in Grey's Anatomy. I started watching and it's pretty good. It's about these four interns at the Seattle Grace Hospital, and it's pretty good. It's definitly dramatic and kinda silly, but it's funny too and it has good characters. I like Izzy, the model turned surgeon, prsonally. She's funny, totally heart-on-her-sleeve, and she manages to get all the crummy jobs. As it turns out Mary McDonnell is only in three episodes, but I'm going to watch anyways. I'll let you know.

Which of the Multiple Roslin hairstyles is best?

Personally, I like this best.

This one's pretty cute.

Nah.

Too short?

Not bad, but I like the darker red hair.

Again, not bad. A bit messy, maybe.

Her wig. Aside from not having a lot of body, it's pretty cute, too. I mean, I'd be happy if my hair looked that nice.
Haha, sorry, I'm going a wee bit (okay, a lotta bit) overboard on the BSG. But it's over! I need to keep myself going somehow. Haha. But seriously, you need to watch it. Or I will....throw you out the airlock! Haha, too much BSG...

Best Of Some of it anyways

Frakkkkk.....

1- Roslin won't die.
2- They will find a planet to live on.
3- Ellen and Tigh will get baxk together.
4- Gaius will be ditched by his fanclub.
5- Galactica will crash-land or otherwise not become a museum.
6- I'm hoping there will be a human/cylon truce, but I have thos fear that the cylon- no! I just thought of something. Galactica is flying to the cylon colony to get Hera. What if the cylons just annihilate the humans there and Roslin and Adama die? I'm actually tearing up now. I bet that's what happens! Please, no!

So- the predictions: (HOLD IT!! THERE'S MAJOR SPOILERS!!!)
1- Roslin died D;
2- They DID find a new planet....called New Earth.
3- Ellen and Tigh DID get back together.
4- Gaius ditched his fanclub, not the other way 'round. He and Caprica Six got together after they found out they hallucinated each other.
5- Sam drove Galactica into the Sun, so yeah, no museum.
6- Yes, Cylon/human truce of a sort, *cough* IfonlyTyroldidn'thavetoscreweverythingupallthetime. *cough* Galactica did fly to the colony, but they didn't get annihilated. Adama didn't die. He's going to build his cabin for Laura. :)

Daybreak

*Sniffles, gasps, burstintotearsandsobs* It was that sad! So Galactica goes on her last mission and rams the Cylon colony to get Hera back. There's all this trouble, but eventually everyone ends up in the CIC and Cavil agrees to a cease-fire and lets Hera go.  But then Tyrol has to screw everything up for everyone and her throttles Tory. So they fight and Galactica jumps away. Frakking blah blah later, (haha do you get it?) they all end up happy on Earth. You see everyone's goodbyes and it turns out Starbuck is an angel or something.... Then you see Adama and Roslin watching gazelles. Laura is obviously dying and so Adama decides to show her a better view. He says good bye to Lee and Starbuck, and so does Laura and then they fly in Adama's Raptor over the animals. Adama starts talking to Roslin about their cabin, but she dies. I literally started crying. It was sad. But it goes on and you'll have to watch it. Eventually we see hallucinogenic Gaius and Six walking around Earth more or less in present time and they're arguing over whether or not Cylons will come back again. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! I'm going to watch it again sometime. ZOMG! I still have a bonus episode I haven't seen!

*Cries*

Daybreak- The end of Battlestar Galactica

I love this show at least as much as Inspector Lewis, if not more. Tonight I'm going to see the final episode- Daybreak. I've started reading BSG fanfics, and I don't like the end some of them are implying. LAURA ROSLIN HAD BETTER NOT DIE!! I was going ro write some predictions. It's fun to come back and see how wrong you are. I have a whole page under the cover of my copy of Deathly Hallows.
What if the cylons just annihalate the humans there and Roslin and Adama die? I'm actually tearing up now. I bet that's what happens! Please, no!
After I finish, I'll tell you what happens. In spoiler cose of course. Cross your fingers!

I knew it, in the bottom of my subconciousness. . . .

I thought from the beginning that Adama and Roslin would be a cute couple. He has the funniest smile ever!

Oh, btw, I like this song, I think.

The End

I saw the last episode of BSG Season 1. I have never seen such a cliffhanger. SoStarbuck hyperspace-jumps to Caprica to retrieve this mythical arrow of Apollo that the president needs to open Athena's temple to find Earth. So on Caprica, Starbuck finds the arrow and Number 6. 6 beats the stuffing out of Starbuck, but eventually Starbuck pushes herself and 6 off a balcony and stabs 6 with a knife as they fall. Helo and Sharon #2 find her. Starbuck and Helo get into an argument about killing Sharon, and Sharon runs out and takes off with Starbuck's spaceship. Best line in the episode: Starbuck looks at Helo and says "That b*tch just stole my ride." And then on Galactica/nearby Sharon #1 and this other chick try to drop a nuclear missile in the Cylon basestar. Sharon has to manually drop it and she sees all the other Sharon-cylons and realizes she's a cylon. But they get back to Galactica. While that's happening Adama stages a coup against Laura, I forget why. Tigh (the XO (the second-in-command)) tries to arrest her, but Apollo threatens to shoot Tigh, but Laura won't shoot anyone, so she's jailed and Apollo is taken to see Adama. Sharon #1 and the other chick get back at the same time. Adama shakes the chick's hand then tries to shake Sharon's but she shoots him. And that's how it ended. Thankfully, It was early enough in the evening that I could watch the first episode of season two. :D
And then there was this part earlier where Gaius is trying to talk to 6 and Laura at the same time, and he says he isn't their plaything. They both look up with identical expressions and say "Plaything?" Best line.

BSG

I said I'd tell you more about Battlestar Galactica. I LOVE it. So much. At any rate, here's the main plot so far.
The cast of season one.
The spaceship Galactica is being retired from use and turned into a museum. Another ship (Colonial 1) is taking some passengers and the Secretary of Education (Laura Roslin) to Galactica from the home planet, Caprica. Laura Roslin is really upset because she's just been diagnosed with cancer. Then, all of a sudden,  these bad guy/robots called Cylons come blasting out of nowhere and pretty much blow up Caprica. Galactica (I don't quite remember this part) either tries to destroy some Cylons or does a hyperspace jump to elsewhere. The long and short of it is Galactica, Colonial 1, and ~500 (I think) various spaceships survive. Caprica and all of the other planets with humanoid life are pretty much annihilated.

Caprica, after the Cylon attack.
The commander of Galactica (Adama) orders Galactica to re-activate itself and sends a rescue ship to Caprica. There are two pilots on the rescue mission: Sharon (aka Boomer) and this other guy and they rescue about 50 people from Caprica, including the super-genius scientist, Gaius Baltar. Sadly, to rescue Gaius the "other guy" is left behind on Caprica. Sharon and the rescuees go back to Galactica. The bad thing is, Gaius had an affair with a human-looking Cylon known as Number 6. Number 6 was "killed" on Caprica and now Gaius is hallucinating Number 6. Or she planted an electronic chip in his head so that she could know what he was thinking and make him "see" her. One of those.
Meanwhile, on Colonial 1, it is discovered that the planetary president, Adar, was killed by the Cylons on Caprica. So the presidency passes to the next highest-ranking person in the government, which turns out to be the Secretary of Education, Laura Roslin. She's sworn in as president.
That's about the first episode or two. There's a few other characters who are important, too.

Lee Adama, aka Apollo. Commander's son and general hero.
William Adama. Commander of Galactica.
Sharon, aka Boomer. Seems to have several affairs.
Gaius Baltar. Super genius with a hallucination that controls his life.
Number 6. Mastermind of everything.
Laura Roslin. Secretary of Education President of the Galaxy.
Tylo, aka Chief. Head engineer and good friend of Sharon's.
Kara Thrace aka Starbuck. All-around BA and kick-butt girl.
Anastasia Dualla aka Dee. Head of Communications or some equivalent.
It's an odd show, but I rather like it a lot. I hope you do too.
